    Get PDF
Bosa, located in the southwest of Bogota, has around 700,000 inhabitants, is one of the areas most recent urban development in Colombia, in the first decade of the century the population increased by 50% due to contradictory processes between formality and informality; is the only sector in Bogotá with conurbation. This article relates the history of urban planning process of this territory from the seventies, but the urban morphology, the focus is on design and urban management especially in the role of urban actors to transform adverse conditions, product informal development through self-management and citizen participation accompanied by government entities that have prioritized the development of housing projects of the city in the town, attracting private developers to generate increase in land prices and one of the highest rates of densification.Peer Reviewe

    * The research is supported partly by INTAS: 04-77-7173 project, http://www.intas.bePattern recognition (classification) algorithmic models and related structures were considered and discussed since 70s: – one, which is formally related to the similarity treatment and so - to the discrete isoperimetric property, and the second, - logic based and introduced in terms of Reduced Disjunctive Normal Forms of Boolean Functions. A series of properties of structures appearing in Logical Models are listed and interpreted. This brings new knowledge on formalisms and ontology when a logic based hypothesis is the model base for Pattern Recognition (classification)

This paper seeks to investigate the options of Popular Housing Organizations to provide alternatives for access to adequate housing in Colombia (according to the Economic and Cultural Social Rights pact), based on the comparison between "Green City" in Soacha , The largest Macroproject of National Social Interest (with a production of about 50 thousand units) and the Association of Comprehensive Housing ASOVIVIR, which in the early 1990s built 550 single-family homes through a self-management process and gave rise to the Housing Federation Popular FENAVIP that developed more than 20,000 houses in the country, with certain differential advantages compared to the production of real estate agents for profit, with whom the National Government develops the Macroprojects, facilitating the massive adaptation of land for social housing but without generating housing units completely adequate to the needs of its inhabitants

    Get PDF
To devise means to make fair and accurate assessment of oral communication skills is a complex task. This becomes even more obvious in engineering subjects, since lecturers are frequently not motivated to spend much time on this task and, also, it’s difficult to set down suitable procedures which enable a reliable evaluation of every aspect involved: synthesis ability, argument development, appropriate pleasant oral communication, body language, stage presence, subject mastery and presentation time control. Frequently, lecturers simply include an oral presentation as part of an assignment where students exercise some technical skills. Therefore, just a plain assessment of a few of the above mentioned aspects is carried out. This way, the stress is on the technical skills exercised, while the oral presentation is considered as something secondary, since students usually make considerable efforts to satisfactorily solve the assignment with hardly any interest in making an adequate oral presentation. These inconveniences become even more evident when the number of students in the class is high, which typically happens among first course subjects. In this paper, we show a practical scheme for the assessment of oral communication skills based on conducting group debates while some technical skills are also assessed

One of the biggest challenges that software developers face is to make an accurate estimate of the project effort. Radial basis function neural networks have been used to software effort estimation in this work using NASA dataset. This paper evaluates and compares radial basis function versus a regression model. The results show that radial basis function neural network have obtained less Mean Square Error than the regression method

An Effective Method for Constructing Data Structures Solving an Array Maintenance Problem

    Get PDF
In this paper a constructive method of data structures solving an array maintenance problem is offered. These data structures are defined in terms of a family of digraphs which have previously been defined, representing solutions for this problem. We present as well a prototype of the method in Haskell

Algorithmic Minimization of Non-zero Entries in 0,1-Matrices

    Get PDF
In this paper we present algorithms which work on pairs of 0,1- matrices which multiply again a matrix of zero and one entries. When applied over a pair, the algorithms change the number of non-zero entries present in the matrices, meanwhile their product remains unchanged. We establish the conditions under which the number of 1s decreases. We recursively define as well pairs of matrices which product is a specific matrix and such that by applying on them these algorithms, we minimize the total number of non-zero entries present in both matrices. These matrices may be interpreted as solutions for a well known information retrieval problem, and in this case the number of 1 entries represent the complexity of the retrieve and information update operations

Analysis of P-Systems under a Multiagent Systems Perspective

Membrane computing is a recent area that belongs to natural computing. This field works on computational models based on nature's behavior to process the information. Recently, numerous models have been developed and implemented with this purpose. P-systems are the structures which have been defined, developed and implemented to simulate the behavior and the evolution of membrane systems which we find in nature. What we show in this paper is an application capable to simulate the P-systems based on a multiagent systems (MAS) technology. The main goal we want to achieve is to take advantage of the inner qualities of the multiagent systems. This way we can analyse the proper functioning of any given p-system. When we observe a P-system from a different perspective, we can be assured that it is a particular case of the multiagent systems. This opens a new possibility, in the future, to always evaluate the P-systems in terms of the multiagent systems technology
